The Growth Tracker — Productivity Tree extension is built on the foundation of user privacy and data ownership. Here is exactly how your information is handled:

Local Storage Policy

Every piece of data generated by this extension—including your site tracking history, focus session logs, todo lists, calendar reminders, and custom domain settings—is stored only on your local device using the Chrome Storage API.

We do not operate any backend servers. Your data never leaves your computer, ensuring you have 100% control over your productivity statistics.

Permissions & Transparency

• storage: Used strictly to save your preferences and daily progress locally.
• tabs / activeTab: Used to identify whether the current site should be tracked for growth or distraction. Tracking only occurs while Chrome is your active, focused window.
• idle: Used to detect when you step away from your keyboard, allowing the extension to pause tracking automatically.
• alarms: Used to run the background tracking engine that calculates your productivity every minute.
• declarativeNetRequest: Used to implement the Pomodoro feature, allowing the extension to block distracting sites during your focus cycles.

No Tracking & Analytics

We do not use tracking pixels, Google Analytics, or any form of cookies. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) during your usage. Your IP address is never logged by us as all logic is processing locally.
